I have suggested a few times (but I think there was some confusion about what
I was talking about) that the "Follow" window could have its own
filter rule, so that the original window keeps the original filter rule. That
way there would not only be no confusion about which window had which filters
applied, but it would also be easier to go back to the original menu and
follow another stream, without having to reapply the original filter rule.
(which when you're talking about a 500 megabyte capture session, takes a little
while, then you have to find your place in the capture again, etc. argh)
In fact, what I really think would be neat is if the follow rule displayed
output as it comes and is filtered by that rule, whatever it might be.
Probably what also needs to be fixed up is when you select what is clearly
labelled a TCP packet and try to follow stream, and it says it can't and maybe
you need to select a TCP packet.
