Hi everyone,

I am experiencing an issue when trying to start a capture in Wireshark on Windows. Every time I attempt to start a session, I get the following error message:

"The capture session could not be initiated on capture device '\Device\NPF_{...}'. (Generic error)"

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Reinstalled Npcap with "WinPcap API-compatible mode" enabled.

  • Ran Wireshark with Administrator privileges.

  • Reset my network adapters using netsh commands.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this specific "Generic error" with the latest Npcap version on Windows, or is there any known incompatibility I should check?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
