thanks for the reply and info, haven't really got a clue where to start to write the necessary code, so looks like I'll be living without it, but I do now know I've not missed something somewhere in the interface

If you're using the Qt user interface, which is the default in Wireshark 2.x on most if not all platforms, you can enable it by writing code to implement it, submit a change to Wireshark, and get it accepted.

I.e., the Qt version of Wireshark doesn't support that dialog.
