I think that you are conecting them on the wrong way and thus you will never get what you want.

If you want to capture the packet from the win 7 at lease you need the following:
A wireless AP (not router)
A switch with port mirroring function
A router or gateway that is connected to the Internet

So win 7 connect wirelessly to the AP
AP Connect to the switch with the port of the mirroring source.
A router or gateway to the switch and your pc to the mirroring switch destination.

With that the only you can get all the info you want.

Hope that help.

Hi,

I have the following network configuration:
- 1 pc connected directly to the router with a cable (this computer runs ubuntu) - 1 laptop connected to the router using WLAN with WPA encryption (this computer runs windows 7)

Questions:
1. Is it possible for me to use Wireshark from the pc connected with cable to get data traffic from the laptop connected using WLAN? 2. If yes to question 1; How can I limit the amount of data since I only want the data from the laptop? 3. How do I analyse the data to get the http traffic? I want to see which web pages have been visited, optionally also chatting over some protocols like msn or facebook. Any filters for that, or can I see it in "clear text" somehow?
