Did you run X11.app ?

Under Leopard you should not get this error as any application trying to use X11 will get it automatically started. So you either have no X11 installed at all or something's terribly wrong on your machine.

Note: the X11 upgrade on the diskimage I distribute is not needed for 10.5.2 as the patches fixing X11 have been fixed in 10.5.2 as far as I remember. One thing to remember: X11 on Tiger is a totally different implementation (XFree86) compared to X11 on Leopard (X.org)
