I gave my deck details in first post, yes I'm running WindeXP - but not by choice! - and it could be related to WinPcap but I have reasonnable doubts : problem is I already had WinPcap installed (v4.0.2) and the previous version of Wireshark! Right after the upgrade the bug appeared, and nothing similar has happened before with other tools using WinPcap, like Snort for instance...
I know that people from WinPcap are members of this list anyway, I won't copy this to their list... for nom! ;o)

I presume you are on Windows. On Windows, Wireshark gets the list of
adapters and does capturing with the WinPcap software. You may want to
ask their mailing list this question instead:
