Yes I'm using Linux - Ubuntu 7.10, kernel 2.6.22
nm prints:
/usr/local/lib/libpcap.a:gencode.o: U pcap_parse
This is the first time I've used nm - the man page says that U means the
symbol is undefined, but I'm not 100% sure exactly what that means?
