It varies depending on what you want to do. If you simply want to see things like utilization and a general view over who is talking to whom you are already there. But note, that Windows is likely to drop packets due to how the stack and the network infrastructure works. In such a case a tap is a better solution 

As an intermediate solution, capturing on Mac or Linux would give you a much better view of what is going on.
