Hi,
Awesome, please go ahead. May I suggest starting off with small contributions to get early feedback.

Of course, this is the best way to learn the ropes.

P.S.

Thanks for picking up my whacky HTTP3 header dissection the other day:  https://gitlab.com/wireshark/wireshark/-/commit/8564c8d525ddf0e9b46453a705b3f862a1923c62

Back then I was still very deep in discussions with the Apple Legal department, and my hands were tied.

Best regards
Anders

Hello,

My name is Omer Ernst Shapira, aka `oesh`. I am a software engineer currently working on Apple’s kernel and user space network stacks.

In the past I have contributed to the QUIC and HTTP/3 Wireshark dissectors. Since joining Apple, I had to pause my contributions until I have collected all the necessary approvals. I have the approvals now and I hope the effort was worth it.

One of the things that I would like to make happen is the dissection of MASQUE. I am quite familiar with the relevant protocols,
but I am pretty sure I will have many Wireshark specific questions.

There is an open issue https://gitlab.com/wireshark/wireshark/-/issues/17502 to add the MASQUE protocol. I wonder whether I can “claim” the issue and start working on it, or whether there is a more formal process that the Wireshark community uses.
