System:
Acer Laptop,
Windows 10 Pro, 64bit, 8GB, version 22H2
Current Wireshark version installed was 4.4.2 x64.

Running the update from within Wireshark with "Check for update" failed with the message:
"Wireshark 4.4.5 x64 Setup

Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Server 2008R2, and Server 2012 are no longer supported.
Please install Wireshark 4.0 instead."

I've had no problem running this update on my desktop which is also Windows 10 Pro, x64, with 64GB of memory.

Installing the newer version on the laptop has sometimes worked by downloading the EXE file separately and installing it. This worked again today when upgrading from 4.4.2 to 4.4.5. It didn't work when I tried this for version 4.4.3.

I suspect that some code in the installer will check for the windows version and either gets a wrong answer or that Wireshark processes it wrong.
