Hello,

I am a user of Wireshark and here I am reporting an out of date documentation problem on Windows install path: https://www.wireshark.org/docs/wsdg_html_chunked/ChSetupWin32.html

In  2.2.15. Optional: Create a Wireshark Installer step 3

Run

> C:\Development\wireshark\packaging\nsis\wireshark-win32-{wireshark-version}-myprotocol123.exe

to test your new installer. It’s a good idea to test on a different machine than the developer machine. Note that if you’ve built an x64 version, the installer will be named accordingly.

I found the path is changed with latest wireshark master branch to, for example 64 bit version.

C:\Development\wsbuild64\packaging\nsis\wireshark-win32-{wireshark-version}-myprotocol123.exe

Could you confirm this is correct? Thanks!

Yes this was changed in https://code.wireshark.org/review/#/c/25725/.  Unfortunately the documentation wasn't updated at that time.

Best Regards,
Tengfei
