Hi,

Actually VC++ 2008 EE SP1 will probably cause fewer problems.

Regards

Anders

Use VC++ 2005 EE. It is highly recommended.
Cheers!

Subject: [Wireshark-dev] Build Error - Cant execute /usr/bin/pod2html

Hi

Changing the Subject title to better reflect the issue I am facing. I have followed the instructions as outlined in the Developer guide (http://www.wireshark.org/docs/wsdg_html_chunked/)

When I run "nmake -f Makefile.nmake all" , it appears that all the C files (including the packet dissector files) are compiling fine, but at the end I get the following error:

/****/
"Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility Version 6.00.9782.0
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1988-1998. All rights reserved.

bash -o igncr pod2html --title="tshark - The Wireshark Network Analyzer 1.1.2-DVB-SIM" --css=ws.css
tshark.pod > tshark.html
Can't execute /usr/bin/pod2html.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'bash' : return code '0x1d'
Stop.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3\VC98\BIN\NMAKE.EXE' : return code '0x2'
Stop."

/****/
I have uninstalled and reinstalled cygwin, python and HTML Help Workshop and I continue to get this error.

Any help is most appreciated. Thanks.

My environment is Windows XP, Visual Studio 6.
