This has no (c) notice so I believe we we can use it.
$ sed 's/#.*//; s/[ \t]+//;' port-numbers | grep -v -c '^$'
10285

I would guess the MAC OS/X file is an older version of the IANA port-numbers file.

The IANA file itself also doesn't have a copyright notice, so we might simply use it ...
