GTK Wireshark can use the dialog File->Export Packet Dissections->As XML PDML
when it is displaying some network packets. The dialog then allows to choose
whichs packets should be saved (captured, displayed, all packets, selected
packets, etc). This all works as expected.
In QT Wireshark however the menu File->Export Packet Dissections is greyed out,
if no display filter is applied to the network packets. I can thus not save the
packets into any of the files offered by that sub menu. If I now apply a
filter, then this menu becomes available, I see the dialog box to choose which
packets to save (all, selected, captured, displayed, etc)
I expect in QT Wireshark to be able to access that sub menu even when no
display filter is applied.
