I met this hang problem since months ago. And strace gave the similar output.
Platform: wireshark 2.0.4+gdd7746e-1 on debian-8 (kali) x64.

Thanks for your hint. Just found a file "androiddump" in
"/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/wireshark/extcap/". After moving the file out of the
dir, wireshark started in the blink of eyes.
