I'd say the vast majority of people I point towards using MATE for something
are not developers and will not be able to or otherwise won't take the time to
reverse engineer it.  I've long noted that the examples are horribly out of
date but have never had the time (never made the time) to fix them.  I think it
would be a significant contribution to fix up all that mess.
