Oh let me be clear - in no way do I champion the tabbed UI as a paragon of
correctness (I'm looking at you Word 6.0 for the Mac). It has it's place, but
certainly not EVERYWHERE.

It doesn't, which is why I changed direction in that paragraph away from the
hippy free-love of windows or the desperate neediness of tabs, to see if
there's a different way to solve my problem.
