Something seems wrong with the WiresharkPortable packaging.
After unpacking it, there is a WiresharkPortable folder. Running the
WiresharkPortable.exe file does not seem to have any effect. There is no error
message nor any message to stdout/stderr or the Event Viewer.
Trying to invoke App\Wireshark\Wireshark.exe shows this message:
The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
Installing the x86 (not x64!) MSVC2013 runtime from
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 fixes the issue.
Can the packaging be improved to include this runtime and/ or provide more
helpful diagnostics in case a library is missing?
Another odd thing is the version number, the current 2.0.0 WiresharkPortable
executable has file version 2.2.0. Seems a bit optimistic ;)
