In the Decode As dialog for Wireshark (QT), there are three button on bottom:

    [ OK ] [ Save ] [ Cancel]

Save indeed makes the changes persistent, but unfortunately there is no way to
see which entries are saved, and which are not. (Guess that is a different
feature request ;))

Even with this feature present, it would be nice to override the Decode As
functionality like the tshark -d option. I ran into this missing option when I
replaced "tshark" by "wireshark", hoping that my SSL capture would be
recognized.
