on bug 11341
from Roland Knall
I've come across this recently as well. It works quite well if you view all
packets in a sequence, but as soon as the SequenceNumber overflows (which it
does naturally in large traces), the whole system seems to crash.
I2e0026b6e448ebfd96f879f2f002a6f30a0a5031 implemented a config option for 2.0
which deactivates the feature. The feature itself is not incorrect, simply not
suited for certain use-cases.
The only viable solution for the duplication detection is implementing a tap
interface and doing the detection there, because the sequence of packets is not
guaranteed in a normal dissection.
For me this bug can be closed (as a "fix" is in place already)
@Ulf - if you have any further questions, please feel free to use the
sourceforge forum for openPOWERLINK and we might present you with more direct
help regarding your traces there.
@Pascal - the solution for the config option could be backported to 1.12. As
mentioned above, the mechanism is not at fault here, it simply has it's limits.
