Can you add a sample Lua script showing the problem?  I'm not sure what you
mean by "create filters".  If you mean execute the "set_filter()" function, you
should be able to do that after checking preferences.  Perhaps it's something
else in your script - if we could see it (or at least the relevant section of
it) that would help a lot.
