The directory I normally load capture files from has a continuous stream of 1MB
files being added to it.  There are currently 1310 files in there.  When I open
a file from that directory I see the delay.  When I copy a file from that
directory to an empty directory, it loads instantly.

Short term, I can simply perform better housekeeping on that directory. 
However, it seems a shame that I have to, when Wireshark Legacy doesn't
struggle.  Is this a Qt issue?
