Worked ("./configure; make; sudo make install") on my Fedora 16-with-KDE VM,
with one weird glitch - if I typed "wireshark" into the box popped up by the
KDE start button (lower-left corner), it showed Wireshark, but without the
appropriate icon.  Rebooting fixed that, so presumably *some* cache or database
needed to be updated, and neither "sudo update-desktop-database
/usr/local/share/applications" nor "update-mime-database /usr/local/share/mime"
did that - maybe there's some KDE goat-sacrifice ceremony needed:
