Comment # 3 on bug 10495 from 
A sanity check wasn't checking for sufficient sanity.  Fix committed as
I2ce5c93fe50d836ec0accfcdef31654ba6b5b7c7 in the trunk and
I2ce5c93fe50d836ec0accfcdef31654ba6b5b7c7 in the 1.12 branch; the code in the
1.10 branch isn't even *doing* that sanity check (so there's probably a lot
more work to do to have the 1.10 code be safe).
