Ummm, OK, I swear that fix worked for me at the time but now that I've updated
my master branch it doesn't.
Actually, it just seems to crash whenever I'm not in my normal branch. IOW it
stopped crashing because I switched to a branch to fix the crash, not because I
actually fixed the crash! <sigh>
