The new code was, I think, intended to support both GTK+ 2 and GTK+ 3.  I don't
know whether it supports GTK+ 3 any better than it supports GTK+ 2.

The intent is to support Qt in Wireshark 1.12 when it comes out, so we want the
newest code to support Qt (C++ code, in ui/qt); we might remove or, at least,
de-support GTK+ 2 and GTK+ 3 at that point.
