I downloaded the stable Wireshark installed .dmg this week (20131107ish) and it
did have a .pkg, but I don't see any script added to /Library/Scripts or
./ScriptingAdditions, and I still get the startupitem error about being
disabled due to security, when I log in (every time).

Wireshark is "Version 1.6.4 (SVN Rev 39941 from /trunk-1.6)" and "Running on
Mac OS 10.8.5 (Darwin 12.5.0), with libpcap version 1.1.1, with libz 1.2.5,
GnuTLS 2.12.7, Gcrypt 1.4.6.". It's a core2 duo MacBook from late 2008, and
Wireshark worked fine on it with Lion.

When I ran the .dmg I was logged in as an admin.

I'll check out Paul's attachments, in particular the launch daemon pkgs.

15 minutes after the above: Ahhhh! Paul's 2012-05-27 09:51 UTC .pkg ran and
Wireshark now starts with interfaces! I'm not sure why the downloaded .dmg
didn't do what Paul's pkg did.
