...because "-F k12text" means "write the file in K12 text file format", and the
only link-layer header types we support when writing K12 text file format files
are Ethernet, MTP3, and Cisco HDLC, and there are some link-layer header types
that I don't think the file format is *capable* of supporting, such as 802.11.
So either attach the file, so we can see what link-layer header type it has, or
at least run the "capinfos" command on it:
C:\Program Files\Wireshark>capinfos C:\temp\parse\edit.pcap
and show us the full output from capinfos.
