(but without menu items)

In bug 8908 it was noticed that while Shift+Right expands subtrees, Shift+Left
does not collapse them again.  Similarly there is no "Collapse Subtrees" option
in the menu(s).  It seems there should be.

This applies to both the Gtk and Qt GUIs.
