Just some questions/notes as I started to look at this:

1. Should packet 608 really be malformed or does the dissector need to be
improved?
2. Is the exception thrown by the malformed packet messing up the global
variables in packet-t38 with respect to its tap?
3. Should the GUI have better error handling if it gets (what I perceive to be)
"garbage" from the tap?

In mind the true bug is in the dissector/tap, not the GUI.
