I've tested with Windows 7 & Fedora 17 using both Gtk2 & Gtk3; All are OK.
I also tested with a varying number interfaces (by changing the code slightly
to repeatedly add the last interface line to the display a small random number
of times). The window height calculation seems to work out just about right
even with as many as 15-20 interface lines.
I'm going to do the commit but I'll leave the bug open until we can get a MAC
OS X test. Jim ?
