Possibly - if the installer, when run on a system with Wireshark installed,
drops the new Wireshark on top of the old one, leaving stuff from the old one
in place, that could happen.
He should try removing the old one (e.g., by dragging it to the Trash, or just
doing "rm -rf /Applications/Wireshark.app") and re-installing. If that works,
then the installer needs to get rid of at least some of the old stuff in any
existing installation.
