I believe it is displaying the correct value. To me, it's the same thing as
the IPv4 dissector displaying the Internet Header Length of a 20 byte IP header
as 20, instead of 5 with a blurb having to explain that this " ... is the
length of the internet header in 32 bit words"[1], and then forcing the user to
have to calculate the actual IP header length him/herself.
I prefer it the way it is. I also think it's likely that folks are used to
seeing it the way it is and would be confused if the 8 bytes were removed, very
possibly opening up another bug report asking to revert it back to how it's
currently displayed.
Well, as I said, I'm not a fan of this patch, but since I personally don't
analyze very many IPv6 captures (yet), I'll leave this to someone else to
decide as to how to handle this patch request.
