Most engineers and technicians in the sercos environment are using Wirshark
after changing the sercosiii.dll to a 32 or 64 bit version which is based on
the origin enhancement patch and is provided by sercos International e.V.
nonprofit organization.
There will be much more effort for them with a build in dissector as they have
to compile new Wireshark versions by their own after removing the build in
sercos dissector or there has to be provided a version which differs from the
original (as I see). If there is any possibility to change build-in dissector
versions without compiling wireshark, please let me know.
Hopefully their will be time and manpower to get the dissector fit for an
offical wireshark release in future. Unfortunately at the moment nobody
(including me) is working on this as the plugin works fine.
Is it possible leaving the plug-in dissector as it?
Best regards,
Torsten
