There's a file called "Suggest.txt" in the attachment which says:
~~~
Because of wireshark's poor UTF-8 support, if the content to be copied contains
UTF-8 characters, such as Chinese, wireshark crashes.
If wireshark's core files coded in UTF-8, it will be far more better.
Suggest you to visit http://www.netexpert.cn/wireshark
They coded the core files with UTF-8 with wireshark's source code(version 1.2),
but the version is out of date.
Suggest:
1. Good UTF-8 support in the future.
2. fix this bug.
~~~
The URL in question works, but it is (not surprisingly) in Chinese.
Google translate indicates that someone added to the Wireshark core; the source
code is available by following the link. That might be an interesting starting
point for someone working on UTF8 support.
Also of interest: this UTF8 does not cause a crash on Linux. I just get
various complaints about invalid UTF8 and whatnot.
