1.4.5, with MIT Kerberos, with GeoIP.
Running on Linux 2.6.35-28-generic, with locale de_AT.UTF-8, with libpcap
version 1.1.1.
Built using gcc 4.4.5.

openSAFETY supports various communication methods, and all have their
implementation specific variations. In the first version of the plugin, a lot
of code got shared, which made development for new protocols quite difficult.
This patch presents a cleanup for this problem, and additionally get's rid of
the underlying problem with bug #6138
