It's best to generate patches against SVN. Unless it's a bugfix, the changes
won't be committed against the 1.4 trunk anyway.
Thanks for your feedback in comment 4--makes sense. I can take a look at
incorporating your changes into the current SVN, but it would be easier if you
could regenerate the patch against SVN (including the changes already checked
in).
