Well, maybe. I'd have to see my ANSI C specs (C89 and C99 - they're at home,
and I'm not) to check that; there are a few surprises in there, where stuff you
might *think* should be ignored by the compiler is either *not* supposed to be
completely ignored by the compiler or is not required to be completely ignored
by the compiler - I think there are cases where #if/#ifdeffed-out code gets
processed by at least some parts of the compiler.
