--- Comment #12 from Chris Maynard <christopher.maynard@xxxxxxxxx> 2010-11-30 10:59:39 PST ---
An update: I downloaded the latest GeoIP databases from maxmind and cleaned up
some of the .dat files in my GeoIP directory. If I only have GeoIP.dat and
GeoLiteCity.dat, then there's no longer any latitude columns for the country.
If instead I only have GeoIPv6.dat and GeoLiteCity.dat, then I only get a
single latitude column for the country, but I get no country column. If I have
both GeoIP.dat and GeoIPv6.dat, along with GeoLiteCity.dat, then I get the
Country column and a single Latitude column. Never do I get a longitude column
for the country.
So I'm not sure what the correct behavior is supposed to be. Is there supposed
to be some "center of country" lat/long, or is there not supposed to be any
lat/long for the country?
Anyway, I guess the bug here is related to processing more than one database,
since the behavior changes depending on many there are, or perhaps the two
databases, GeoIP.dat and GeoIPv6.dat are in slightly different formats?
