Right, but on Windows it doesn't work at all even if I edit gtkrc and set
gtk-button-images to 1. So it would seem it's broken for Windows. Or I'm
missing something again, which is always possible. :)
But besides that though, I think most Windows users aren't used to this and
won't think to modify a gtkrc file that's part of the Wireshark distribution,
so they'll likely never see this feature. I'm not even sure if this is
documented anywhere?
Well, I don't think it's that much extra eye candy, but if there's sufficient
opposition to having it turned on by default, then maybe a different Wireshark
preference would be a better solution, one that would work well even for
Windows users? The effect of the preference might be to simply enable the
appropriate gtkrc option, but having that preference means the user doesn't
have to know the details of how it's enabled or do anything special/out of the
ordinary to control this particular Wireshark preference.
