I confirm that searching backward for marked or time referenced frames is
massively faster with this patch. I tested searching forward for a marked
frame from frame 1 to frame 300,000 (which was marked) in an uncompressed
capture. At rev 1.4.0.rc2, it took 9 secs. At SVN 33791 (your patch) it took
about one millisecond. That is quite remarkable. Thank you.
I'll open another bug report for slow backward filtered searches in compressed
files.

Characterizing the a backward search that would take over a day to complete as
"hanging forever" was a gross exaggeration. I'll try to refrain from such
outbursts of hyperbole in the future. =)
