True, it's probably not Major.
I looked at zlib recently and their API still uses longs for offsets and they
say that you have the 2 Gbyte limit if you're 32-bit but you don't if you're
64-bit. It sounded to me like they've no intention of adding 64-bit offset
support in 32-bit libraries, though I don't know if anyone has asked (or
submitted a patch for 64-bit-offset APIs :-)).
