I should have specified that I used the same hub and configured Wireshark
identically on both computers, including promiscuous mode. I had originally
been using the latest version of WireShark (V 1.2.6) when I experienced the
problem. I downgraded to 0.99.8 because that version was working to capture all
packets through the hub. I have used this same hub for several years and it is
definately not a switch. I can indeed see packets going to and from my computer
as well as broadcast traffic
Any thoughts you might have on why I am seeing packets going out to an unknown
server on the internet at 96.16.49.83 using TLSv1? I do not see this happening
at all using a different computer and using the same hub and connection. Again,
as far as I know, I have never set up a link to this server from Akamai
Technologies.
Thank you.
