Test patch

Thanks for the detailed report! How did you do the debuging? Did you build
GTK yourself?

Any way your investigation promted me to do a test, see the enclosed POC patch.
It looks like freze/thaw is creating the problems and perhaps we need to
insert packets during live captures without disconnecting the model. That's
probably a performance hit but looking at live captures is probably only
meaningsful att relativly low capture rates.
 Implementing this properly is probably a bit more involved, the enclosed patch
is only for live captures freze/thaw should be used when loading capture files.
