In recent versions, a new feature was added to the main window's Filter box: as
I type some display filter, say, udp, a list pops up with all the protocols
that start with 'udp'. And when I hit enter, the first item in that list (udp
actually) is selected and the list disappears. But the filter has not been
applied, as I would expect. I have to hit enter a second time to do that.
I guess this is all subjective, but most of the time it's faster to type the
entire protocol and hit enter, than typing part of it, hitting enter, wondering
why nothing happens, then hitting enter again. And since for http (as an
example) one has to hit enter just once, the behavior is also arguably
inconsistent.
One simple fix would be, when hitting the first enter, to apply the filter
directly, even if there are multiple matches.
