I have much more detailed code (since I have access to the ftp server) that could also be released. I've added support to Wireshark for decoding all of the management frames. That was very useful for debugging my drivers. http://www.wireshark.org/ I also have code for u-boot that can load the firmware onto an embedded powerline device. We don't have flash on our boards, the firmware is loaded from the main system into the powerline device. u-boot is boot firmware most commonly used on Linux based devices. http://www.denx.de/wiki/U-Boot I need your ok in order to release those two pieces of code. I can send them for review if you're interested. ... snip .... > > Bill Wike > Principal FAE > Intellon Corporation > (919) 417-8080 -- Jon Smirl jonsmirl@xxxxxxxxx Delivered-To: jonsmirl@xxxxxxxxx Received: by 10.220.76.17 with SMTP id a17cs110761vck; Wed, 22 Apr 2009 13:14:04 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.229.100.5 with SMTP id w5mr228241qcn.100.1240431244180; Wed, 22 Apr 2009 13:14:04 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <bill.wike@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Received: from jankymail-mx1.g.dreamhost.com (jankymail-mx1.g.dreamhost.com [208.97.132.126]) by mx.google.com with ESMTP id 4si857542yxq.38.2009.04.22.13.14.01; Wed, 22 Apr 2009 13:14:01 -0700 (PDT) Received-SPF: fail (google.com: domain of bill.wike@xxxxxxxxxxxx does not designate 208.97.132.126 as permitted sender) client-ip=208.97.132.126; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=hardfail (google.com: domain of bill.wike@xxxxxxxxxxxx does not designate 208.97.132.126 as permitted sender) smtp.mail=bill.wike@xxxxxxxxxxxx Received: from ocagateway02.Intellon.com (mail.intellon.com [216.255.246.17]) by jankymail-mx1.g.dreamhost.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 07FE730F9E for <jonsmirl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; Wed, 22 Apr 2009 13:14:00 -0700 (PDT) Received: from Intellon.com [192.168.170.17] by ocagateway02.Intellon.com - Websense Email Security (6.1.0); Wed, 22 Apr 2009 16:13:59 -0400 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.5 Content-class: urn:content-classes:message MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Subject: FW: [PATCH] Linux usb driver for intellon based PLC like devolo dlan duo Date: Wed, 22 Apr 2009 16:13:57 -0400 Message-ID: <71EDE37EE98E1544B5A5D3C18ABE75DD0599EC7A@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> X-MS-Has-Attach: X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: Thread-Topic: [PATCH] Linux usb driver for intellon based PLC like devolo dlan duo Thread-Index: AcnDBe9+guArL6XsRcuM0LhpRIzf+QATwliQAAt/5LAAAOYWEA== From: "Bill Wike" <bill.wike@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Jon Smirl" <jonsmirl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> X-SEF-7853D99-ADF1-478E-8894-213D316B8FFA: 1 X-SEF-ZeroHour-RefID: fgs=4 X-SEF-Processed: 6_1_0_100__2009_04_22_16_13_59 Jon... Here is the feedback: ... snip .. As for Wireshark, anyone can use Wireshark to reverse engineer ethernet frames. Powerline frames are another matter. The fact that they had legal access to our customer facing documentation should not make any difference. A publicly available wireshark tool would good, too. Go ahead. ... snip ....
