I can confirm the same bug is still here in latest release V1.08 (Rev 28431)
under Windows 2003 Server 32-bit Edition.
I have been trying to use the Multiple-Files capture option (using a one-day
trigger), but as soon as Wireshark switches to the second file, the "Closing
File" process hangs.
Wireshark is still capturing in the background (I can see the capture window
scrolling), but the wireshark Window is completely unresponsive. There is a
small borderless Window showing "Closing File Please wait..." in the middle of
the screen, but it is stuck and unresponsive too.
I couldn't find any other choice than launching the Task Manager to kill
Wireshark. I could reproduce the problem several times.
Best regards,
JM Joudrier
