After applying Microsoft's Jul 2008 patch to my WinXP Home OS with SP2 and Post
SP2 patches applied, WireShark no longer sees the interface which it used to be
able to capture from.
On a side note, ZoneAlarm Pro also acted up causing me to entirely loose all
internet access while ZoneAlarm Pro was running after applying Microsoft's most
recent patch.
Likewise, Frisk Software's F-Prot AntiVirus software was also unable to update
itself after applying Microsoft's most recent patch.
Above problems seem to occur for XP Home users, but not XP Pro users for some
unknown reason.
ZoneAlarm and F-Prot offered patches which were able to work around the most
recent MS Patch. However, Wireshark, even the latest build, cannot seem to see
the proper interface like it used to and instead, only sees Microsoft's Generic
Adapter.
