Main window -> Edit -> Preferences -> Capture -> Interfaces: Edit
Pick the interface you've set as the Capture -> Default interface and mark it
hidden.
Main window -> ctrl-k -> Interface dropdown
The hidden interface is populated as the default choice, even though it is
hidden and does not appear in the dropdown list.
I suppose this is technically "working as designed" but it's an odd result and
likely to confuse some users.
I suggest making the Hide interface? checkbox inactive on the interface that's
been set as the default.
