There is a bug in wireshark 1.0 (bug 2376) that tries to decode every UDP
packet with three 0x00 octets at the beginning of the UDP payload as "Redback
Lawful Intercept". This has been fixed in the current development releases. For
now you can disable the "Redback Lawful Intercept" dissector to prevent this
from happening while dissecting your packets.
As for the UDP checksum, did you make the capture on the system that sends out
the packets? If so, it could be checksum offloading of your TCP/IP stack. How
does the packet look on a *receiving* system? Have a look at
"http://wiki.wireshark.org/TCP_checksum_offload", the same applies for UDP
checksum offloading.
